Nafeza 2 world - The family of a girl who finally underwent spinal surgery after seven cancelled operations have welcomed the progress she has made.

Eva Tennent's parents were told the curvature of her spine had become so severe following the delays that her condition had become "inoperable".

But following BBC Scotland News coverage, a fresh review led to the operation going ahead at Edinburgh's children's hospital.

Eva's father, Stephen Tennent, said the 10-year-old’s "own wee character" had come back.

Eva’s mother, Jill Lockhart, said the surgery had eased her daughter's pain and would prolong her life, although her progressive condition means she is still in respiratory failure.
