Nafeza 2 world - Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters are tackling a fire at a waste recycling centre in north London.

The London Fire Brigade was called to Nobel Road, Edmonton at around 03:30 BST on Thursday to 500 tonnes of mixed waste on fire.

The brigade says about 100 tonnes of the material, located in a single-storey enclosed bay, remained on fire at 05:50 BST.

Residents in the local area have been advised to keep doors and windows shut due to the amount of smoke being produced.

The Brigade said it had deployed its drone team to the scene to offer the Incident Commander an aerial view of the fire.

Nobel Road is closed between Thornton Road and Kynoch Road, with traffic along the A1055 is likely to be impacted, the LFB added.

Crews from Edmonton, Enfield, Chingford, and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, the LFB said.
